This painting was commissioned by the commanding officer of 14th Fighter Squadron, USAF.
The painting includes F-16’s from 14th Fighter Squadron, operating as 14th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron under 407th Air Expeditionary Group, on combat deployment. The scene depicts a specific dusk into night mission flown by Weasel 41 & Weasel 51.
The F-16’s are positioned to show every type of munition and sensor carried on the mission, together with the correct markings for each aircraft. The 14th FS, known as the ‘Fighting Samurai’, uniquely count weapon drop markings on the side of their aircraft with Samurai helmets. The lead aircraft in this painting had 71 helmets added below the canopy at the time of this mission.
Exclusive Limited Edition custom prints were produced as part of the commission for distribution to squadron personnel.
